Description
These Fudgy Dark Chocolate Brownies are rich, delicious, and incredibly easy to make. Using simple ingredients like bittersweet chocolate, butter, and eggs, they deliver an unforgettable chocolate experience. Perfect for sharing or savoring all by yourself!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 oz. bittersweet chocolate (I used Ghirardelli 60% cacao baking chips)
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 5 large eggs
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 13×9-inch baking pan and set it aside.
- In a 3-quart saucepan, melt the butter and bittersweet chocolate over low heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- After the chocolate mixture has cooled, whisk in the sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Then, add the eggs one at a time, whisking each egg in completely before adding the next.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Gradually combine this dry mixture with the chocolate mixture, whisking until smooth.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
Ensure the butter and chocolate are melted on low heat to avoid scorching.
For extra flavor, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips to the batter before baking.
Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature.
