Description

This Air Fryer Grilled Cheese brings together crispy bread and gooey cheese for a simple yet scrumptious meal. Perfect for a quick dinner or comforting snack, it uses just a few ingredients to create a flavor that satisfies.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
  • 1 tablespoon softened butter or mayo
  • 23 slices cheese (sharp cheddar, American, provolone, Swiss, gouda, or a combo)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 370°F for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place one slice, butter-side down, and layer the cheese evenly on top, keeping it slightly away from the edges. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up, and gently press the sandwich together. Insert a toothpick through the center to secure it.
  3. Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 370°F for 4–5 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3–4 minutes, until both sides are golden and the cheese is melted.
  4. Remove the sandwich from the air fryer. Take out the toothpick, slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Using butter will yield a crispier texture than mayo, but both work well.
Try using a combination of cheeses for a richer flavor!
Adjust cooking time based on the type of bread used for best results.
