Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound salmon, (4) 4-ounce filets
- 2 teaspoons spicy brown mustard
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped; for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel. Apply about 1/2 teaspoon of spicy brown mustard to each salmon filet using a pastry brush. Then, sprinkle each filet with one-fourth of the spice mixture. Let the salmon rest for 10 minutes before cooking.
- Place the seasoned salmon filets in the preheated air fryer, ensuring each filet has about an inch of space between them. If needed, cook in batches. Air fry for 6-8 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 135 degrees F.
- Remove the filets from the air fryer and transfer them to a plate. Cover with aluminum foil to keep warm while cooking any remaining filets. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the salmon for a few hours before cooking.
Ensure that the salmon fillets are of uniform size for even cooking.
Experiment with different spices in the mix for varied flavor profiles.
