Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour plus 2 tablespoons
  • 1½ tsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda

  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden and smells nutty.
  3. Remove from heat and let the butter cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
