Description

This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Cabbage skillet dish is bursting with mouthwatering flavors. With simple prep and key ingredients like parmesan and garlic, it’s perfect for quick dinners or healthy meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head green cabbage about 2 lbs, cored and cut into 56 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley plus more for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cabbage wedges, flat side down, sear undisturbed for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown, flipping using tongs, and then remove to a plate.
  2. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add chopped onion and cook for about 5 minutes until soft and golden.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, letting the sauce simmer for another minute until smooth.
  6. Return cabbage wedges to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Cover partially and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the cabbage is fork-tender.
  7. Garnish with extra parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using smoked paprika in place of Cajun seasoning.
This dish pairs well with grilled or roasted meats.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
