Description

This easy blueberry crisp features fresh blueberries baked with a crumbly topping, perfect for a comforting dessert that’s simple to prepare and utterly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 4 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9 x 9 pan with non-stick spray.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, mix blueberries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and water until the mixture thickens.
  3. In a bowl, prepare the topping by mixing flour, brown sugar, quick oats, and cubed cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or fork to combine until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle it over the blueberry mixture.
  4. Bake the dish for 30 minutes.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using brown sugar for the filling instead of white sugar.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
This recipe works well with frozen blueberries; just increase the cooking time slightly.
