- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pound thick chicken breasts to about ½ to ¾ inch thickness for even cooking or slice large breasts in half horizontally.
- Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Dredge the seasoned chicken in flour, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and add the chicken, cooking for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. The chicken doesn't need to be fully cooked at this stage. Remove the chicken and set aside.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the spices for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
Substitute heavy cream with milk for a lighter version of the gravy.
Serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious gravy.
