Description

These Homemade Artisan Crackers (4 Flavors) are packed with irresistible flavors and are incredibly easy to make. Perfect for snacks or entertaining, featuring all-purpose flour, fresh herbs, and a crispy texture that pairs wonderfully with dips or cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading and rolling
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) water
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing
  • flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and rosemary. Add the water and olive oil, stirring until the dough forms a clump.
  2. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until it forms a ball. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  4. Cut the dough in half, keeping one half covered. Roll out the other half on a floured surface to about 1/16th inch thickness.
  5. Cut the rolled dough into rectangles about 3 x 1.5 inches and transfer to the prepared sheets.
  6. Repeat for the second half of the dough.
  7. Poke holes in the dough with a fork, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  8. Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown, rotating sheets halfway.
  9. Cool completely on the baking sheets on a rack. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Notes

These crackers pair well with various dips like hummus and crab dip.
Experiment with other herbs and spices to create different flavor profiles.
To re-crisp any softened crackers, bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
