Description

Experience the delightful taste of Homemade Blueberry Pie with Lattice Top. This pie features a buttery, flaky crust filled with juicy blueberries, making it an ideal dessert for gatherings or simply enjoying at home. It’s easy to make with key ingredients like fresh blueberries and a touch of lemon, perfect for anyone seeking a homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour (325 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 7 tablespoons ice cold water
  • 2 pounds blueberries (6 cups)
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly-squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (or orange zest)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Add flour, sugar, salt, and cubed butter to a food processor. Pulse for about 1 minute until the mixture resembles a breadcrumb-like consistency.
  2. Slowly drizzle in ice water while continuing to pulse the mixture for another minute. Check if the crumbs stick together when squeezed.
  3. Transfer the crumb mixture into a large ziplock bag and squeeze gently until it forms a smooth dough ball.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions, flatten into discs, wrap them in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, consider using a mix of blueberries and raspberries.
Be sure your butter is very cold to achieve the best flaky texture in the dough.
Let the pie cool for a short while before slicing to help maintain its shape.
