Description

This Juicy Grilled Tequila Lime Marinated Chicken is packed with flavor thanks to tequila and lime juice. It’s easy to prepare and perfect for family dinners or BBQs, ensuring you serve up something delicious that’ll impress everyone!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • ¼ cup tequila blanco
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon tomato powder
  • ½ teaspoon chipotle powder
  • kosher salt & fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • fresh sliced lime, chopped cilantro- for garnishes, optional

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken thighs in a large resealable bag or bowl.
  2. Add tequila, lime juice, olive oil, cilantro, brown sugar, garlic paste, cumin, paprika, tomato powder, chipotle powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the bowl, then refrigerate to marinate for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight.
  4. Before grilling, let the marinated chicken come to room temperature.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375-450°F) and grease the grates.
  6. Grill the chicken for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove and let rest for 10 minutes.
  7. If using a stovetop grill, preheat the grill pan and brush with oil, grilling chicken in batches for about 5-7 minutes per side.
  8. Garnish with lime wedges and cilantro before serving.

Notes

Marinating overnight intensifies the flavor of the chicken.
Use fresh cilantro for a vibrant garnish.
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to suit your taste.
