Description

Pico de Gallo is a fresh and zesty salsa made from ripe tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. It’s perfect as a dip or topping for your favorite dishes, offering an irresistible mixture of flavors in every bite.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound roma tomatoes
  • ½ red onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ freshly ground black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the tomatoes, removing the seeds and pulp from the center.
  2. Finely dice the red onion and chop the cilantro.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and stir well to mix them together.
  4. Chill for 30 minutes to 1 hour, or serve immediately.

Notes

This salsa can be made in advance; the flavors deepen after sitting.
For a spicier version, add diced jalapeño peppers to the mix.
Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos.
