- 2 cups basil, packed
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ cup pistachios
- ⅓ cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- ½ cup olive oil
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine basil, garlic, pistachios, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pulse to mix well.
- While the food processor is running, pour in the olive oil gradually until the mixture blends smoothly.
- Transfer the pesto to a bowl or a glass jar for serving.
Notes
Pesto can be stored in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 3 days.
For longer storage, freeze the pesto in portions for up to 5 months.
