Description

These Red, White, and Blue Berry Dessert Bites are the perfect treat for any occasion. With delicious cream cheese, fresh berries, and a flaky crescent crust, they offer a delightful burst of flavor. Quick to prepare, they are ideal for gatherings or a simple dessert at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, divided
  • 1 cup + 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, divided
  • 16 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup raspberries, or more if needed
  • 1 cup blueberries, or more if needed
  • fresh mint or fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a 15x10x1-inch sheet pan (or a round pizza pan).
  3. Press the perforations to seal the dough.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. In a chilled bowl, combine the heavy cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  7. Whisk until the cream holds a loose peak.
  8. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar on top of the whipped cream and continue whisking until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  9. In another bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and the remaining vanilla until smooth.
  10. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
  11. Spread the cream mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
  12. Top with fresh berries.
  13. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy. Garnish with fresh mint or basil leaves.

Notes

For best results, use fresh berries for topping.
The dessert can be prepared a few hours ahead; just add berries before serving.
