Description

These Salty Potato Chip Rice Krispie Treats offer a delightful contrast of sweet and salty flavors, combining gooey marshmallows, crispy potato chips, and a rich chocolate drizzle. Perfect for a quick treat or party snack, they are easy to make and irresistibly tasty!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (10 ounce) bags mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups crushed kettle cooked potato chips
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat until bubbly and brown bits appear. Reduce heat to low at that point.
  3. Add 1 bag of marshmallows and ¼ of the second bag to the butter, stirring until completely melted and mixed. Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Incorporate the rice krispies cereal using a large spatula. When half mixed, add the crushed potato chips and continue stirring until evenly combined.
  5. Stir in the remaining marshmallows until evenly distributed, then press the mixture into the prepared pan with the help of wax or parchment paper.
  6. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth, then drizzle over the rice krispy treats.
  7. Once the chocolate sets, cut the treats into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Use high-quality kettle-cooked potato chips for the best flavor.
Allow the treats to set at room temperature for easier cutting into squares.
Feel free to customize by adding nuts or different types of chocolate if desired.
