Description
Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a delightful dessert combining sweet and salty flavors. Easy to prepare with pretzels, fresh strawberries, and creamy goodness, it’s perfect for gatherings or a tasty treat at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups small salted pretzels (crushed)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup salted butter (melted)
- 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 6 oz strawberry flavored gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 lb fresh strawberries (sliced)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and gather all ingredients.
- Using a food processor, pulse pretzels and brown sugar together until mixed yet still chunky.
- Add melted butter and pulse a few more times until combined evenly.
- Press the mixture uniformly into the bottom of an 8×8 baking dish lined with parchment. Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown, then let cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla with a hand mixer until smooth.
- Pour heavy cream into the mixture and beat until fully combined. Spread this over the cooled pretzel crust and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- In a medium bowl, mix strawberry gelatin powder with boiling water until dissolved, then refrigerate until thickened, about 30 minutes.
- Fold sliced strawberries into the thickened gelatin and pour over the cream cheese layer.
- Return the dish to the fridge for 2 to 4 hours to let the Jello fully set. Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
Ensure the pretzel crust is completely cooled before adding the cream cheese layer.
Allow ample chilling time for the gel layer to set properly for the best texture.
Feel free to substitute with other flavored gelatin or fruit of your choice.
